L'ipnotica e visionaria cantautrice alt-pop Gia Ford annuncia l’uscita del suo attesissimo secondo album, A Room Within A Room, disponibile dal 18 settembre 2026, via Chrysalis Records; tra atmosfere cinematiche e songwriting senza compromessi, l'artista esplora la vastità dell’esperienza umana nel suo lavoro più personale e ambizioso.

Ad accompagnare l’annuncio, la pubblicazione del singolo "At Least For Now", brano con cui Gia Ford mette in mostra una scrittura ancora più matura e una notevole capacità di attraversare stili e influenze provenienti da epoche diverse, mantenendo però una forte identità contemporanea grazie a un’impronta artistica inconfondibile.
Il brano richiama l’eleganza sonora degli anni Settanta, tra linee di basso vellutate, arrangiamenti raffinati e una performance vocale intensa e avvolgente. Un singolo capace di essere sofisticato e immediato allo stesso tempo, offrendo un primo assaggio di ciò che attende gli ascoltatori nel nuovo album.
Parlando di A Room Within A Room, Gia Ford racconta:
“This album is the manifestation of a desire to make something real, in a world and artistic landscape that increasingly favours convenience over craft. My producer and I wanted each player to leave their mark on the album, to hear everyone’s personality in their performance; hear the room we recorded in, and the evidence of life within it. I miss hearing that stuff in recordings. This is the antithesis of that hyper-clean, optimized sound that is so abundant now. It’s almost optimization in the opposite direction, making it clear that some people made this music together in a room somewhere. A Room Within A Room is about the local atmospheres we own that hang around us. It's about the private rooms within us, the expansiveness of our experience, the force of our inner worlds and imaginations. It's also about the importance of process, and overall, the significance of human creation.”.
A proposito del nuovo singolo, Ford aggiunge: “This song is inspired by the poet Anne Sexton. It's about the tumult of one's feelings; about wanting to be here one moment and gone the next. It's about the futility of our individual selves in the face of where we are; it's about our predicament. My favourite song of my own.”.
Recentemente Gia Ford ha inoltre annunciato un tour nel Regno Unito che prenderà il via nell’ottobre 2026. Tra le date in programma figurano un concerto da headliner al Camden Assembly di Londra il 20 ottobre e altri appuntamenti a Bristol, Leeds, Manchester, Edimburgo e North Shields.
"At Least For Now" è stato preceduto dai singoli "I Guess My Time Has Come", "How Do I Reply?" e "God".
Dopo l’uscita del debut album Transparent Things, Ford ha raccolto ampi consensi dalla critica. CLASH Magazine l’ha definita “una delle nuove figure più interessanti della scena indie da tenere d’occhio”, assegnando al disco un punteggio di 8/10, mentre The Line of Best Fit ha scritto: “Il debutto di Gia Ford è un trionfo di perseveranza, integrità artistica e della determinazione nel restare fedeli alla propria visione”.
