GRANDSON INCENDIA CON IL NUOVO SINGOLO “SELF IMMOLATION”
UN’ANTEPRIMA ROVENTE DEL NUOVO ALBUM INERTIA
Los Angeles-based indie-rock powerhouse grandson (Jordan Benjamin) returns with his blistering new single “SELF IMMOLATION”, a track already praised by FLOOD Magazine for its “powerful riffs that bring Tom Morello to mind.” The single offers a searing glimpse of his highly anticipated new album, INERTIA, out via XX Records in partnership with Create Music.
Driven by gritty guitars and pummeling percussion, “SELF IMMOLATION” is a sonic gut punch that explores what it means to have a cause worth fighting for. grandson reveals the song was inspired by the anti-war movement on college campuses, the late Aaron Bushnell, and the tragic events of Kent State in 1970. Written in a live, free-flowing studio session, the track captures the energy and urgency that fuel the entire album.
Known for his unflinching social commentary and emotionally raw storytelling, grandson pushes darker, harder, and more uncompromising than ever before on INERTIA. The record follows the sharp and poignant first release “BRAINROT”, a critique of apathy and conformity in the digital age. Since its teaser, the track has racked up over 6 million views across socials and earned grandson a cover feature on Kerrang!.
Produced by Mike Crossey (The Killers, The 1975, 21 Pilots, YUNGBLUD), the album marks an urgent, unfiltered new chapter. As Billboard notes, grandson has been “making bold statements with his music for the last few years,” and INERTIA promises to be his most powerful rallying cry yet—colossal riffs, punchy rap-rock grooves, and soaring hooks built for the pit.
This fall, grandson embarks on his biggest headlining tour to date across North America. Speaking on the tour, he shares: “This next chapter was built by and for the sweat of the crowd, the roar of our voice becoming one—defiant, proud, cathartic, and messy. INERTIA is the best version of grandson, a lifetime in the making.”
With sold-out shows already under his belt in Los Angeles, London, and Hamburg—raising thousands for LGBTQ+ rights, migrant support, and children affected by war—grandson proves that music can be both a weapon and a lifeline. INERTIA is an album that demands to be heard, felt, and shouted back from the crowd.
