L'UK punta in alto all'Eurovision con le straordinarie Remember Monday e il loro esplosivo brano pop What The Hell Just Happened!

Dynamic girlband Remember Monday release their anthemic new single ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’, confirmed as the United Kingdom’s entry for this year’s 69th Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland in May.

‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ showcases the band at their best, highlighting their bubbly character, joyful harmonies and melodies. It’s a pop track brimming with fun and infectious energy, a dancefloor-filler that relatably narrates a raucous night out with friends. The video directed by Rupert Bryan perfectly echoes this sense of whimsy and drama.

Made up of best friends Charlotte, Holly and Lauren, Remember Monday are seasoned performers. Since first meeting in sixth form, they have gone from strength to strength, regularly appearing on the music festival circuit, and last year the band embarked on their first sellout UK wide tour. The multi-talented group are also no strangers to the West End with the girls between them having starred in productions of 'Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera (Holly), Mary Poppins' (Charlotte), and ‘Matilda’ (Lauren), who also had a lead role in the nationwide tour of 'SIX The Musical'.

Speaking on the song the girls say “‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ is exactly how we’re feeling right now! It’s all very surreal; our friendship goes so far back, and we definitely never imagined that we’d be doing anything like this. When you’re a kid and people ask you what you want to be when you grow up, an absolute classic is “I wanna be a pop star”, so the fact that we’re getting the chance to live that dream as three best friends is just wild. We’re going to be the first girlband to represent the UK since 1999, which feels like such a crazy honour.“

As well as their own brand of empowering pop, Remember Monday have made a name for themselves on social media. They have amassed 11.3 million likes on Tiktok having shared a mix of content including creative and playful takes on everyone's favourite songs; from Sabrina Carpenter and Queen, to Shania Twain and Wicked. Amongst the band's many supporters sits their former Voice UK coach, Jennifer Hudson. Since appearing on the show in 2019, where they reached the quarter finals, the EGOT winning singer and actress continues to mentor and support the group.

‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ will be released through independent music and entertainment company The Other Songs. Since its inception in 2018, their roster has amassed over 2 billion streams, including from notable signings such as the alternative artist Ren and the singer-songwriter Bruno Major. More recently, The Other Songs established a joint venture with dance music tastemaker Fish56Octagon.

Co-founders of The Other Songs, Alastair and Billy Webber, said: “The moment we heard this absolute banger we knew The Other Songs had to get behind it in a big way. The girls are brilliant and the song is undeniable. Game on.”

Remember Monday co-wrote the song with Billen Ted (Tom Hollings and Sam Brennan), Thomas Stengaard and Julie 'Kill J' Aagaard. BRIT Award nominees, Billen Ted, have worked with Little Mix, Anne Marie, MNEK and Armin van Buuren to name a few. Thomas Stengaard previously wrote Denmark’s 2013 Eurovision winning song ‘Only Teardrops’. Julie 'Kill J' Aagaard is both a multi-platinum songwriter and a successful experimental pop artist in her own right.

The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place in St. Jakobshalle, Basel, on Saturday 17 May with the Semi-Finals taking place on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 May. The Grand Final and the Semi Finals will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer plus via BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
