‘Audience With The Queen’ segna una svolta rispetto ai 10 precedenti album dei Galactic, la maggior parte dei quali ruotava attorno al nucleo di strumentisti della band - Ben Ellman (sassofoni, armonica), Robert Mercurio (basso), Stanton Moore (batteria), Jeff Raines (chitarra) e Rich Vogel (tastiere) - accompagnati da un mix di vocalist diversi. Qui, l'ottantatreenne Irma Thomas guida il disco con una serie di canzoni nuove di zecca scritte appositamente per la collaborazione con gli impeccabili Galactic (nel disco è presente anche una rivisitazione del classico di Nancy Wilson ‘How Glad I Am’).
