Superstar Australian dance act PNAU today announce their upcoming album, AHHCade, set to drop July 31st via leading indie label etcetc. The seventh studio album from the acclaimed Aussie-born, US-based duo, is set to feature PNAU’s recent single ‘Tu Corazon (Your Heart)’ featuring Mexican rock band The Warning, plus PNAU’s euphoric new single ‘Nirvana’ with EARTHGANG and sadMONTH, which drops today, articulating the defining sound of AHHCade. The album announcement comes as PNAU get set to return Down Under this winter for their first ever regional tour, taking in 12 dates along the East Coast of Australia, with more to be announced.
On the new album, AHHCade, PNAU’s Nick Littlemore says, “There is a sense of belonging about music, about the journey we have taken. Both Peter and I and our collaborators, creating a home on the dancefloor, between the ears of the listener. We are making heart songs. While, yes, they have electronics and they have technology, they are essentially expressions of the heart.”
New single ‘Nirvana’ sees PNAU team up with Atlanta hip-hop duo EARTHGANG, and a first of its kind collab with sadMONTH, a daring new project from the creative mind of Nick Littlemore and Toronto’s Dom Dias.
“Nirvana represents the birth of a new era,” explains Littlemore. “It’s fierce, feverish and harks back to the shape of punk electronic yet to come . Get ready to be uptight, upgrooved and unhinged for a new disorder.”
EARTHGANG adds, “For Nirvana we tapped the euphoric and enlightened energy with PNAU, and surfed the electro crush. We appreciate everybody who poured their energy into making it a banger.”
EARTHGANG was formed in Atlanta in 2008 by Johnny "Olu O. Fann" Venus and Doctur "Eian Undrai Parker" Dot, two friends who connected while they were in high school and came to carry the torch of boundary-pushing, somewhat psychedelic rap from innovators like OutKast and Future. Along with working concurrently as part of the Spillage Village collective, EARTHGANG issued increasingly adventurous releases, signing on with J. Cole's Dreamville label for a series of EPs and their 2019 album Mirrorland. In a world where music consumption seems controlled by algorithms, EARTHGANG seeks to break free and reconnect with fans on a deeper level.
Like EARTHGANG, PNAU’s Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes met while at high school, producing and releasing music while still in their teens. From their ARIA Award-winning debut album Sambanova to their 2024 album Hyperbolic, PNAU have taken their sound from underground raves to the global stage. Hyperbolic ushered in a new era with A-List features including Troye Sivan, Khalid, Bebe Rexha, Ozuna and Empire of the Sun - Nick Littlemore’s other hugely successful project. This followed on from their massive collaboration with Elton John and Dua Lipa, ‘Cold Heart’, which delivered Sir Elton his first UK number one single in 16 years, amassing billions of streams in the process.
AHHCade is set to feature even more surprising collaborations, with PNAU’s recent track ‘Tu Corazon (Your Heart)’ with Mexican band The Warning showing they are not bound by any genre, sound or country.
