Nina Fay is the half-Norwegian, half-Russian experimenter who burst on to the alt.pop scene in 2023 with a series of singles that combined sonic exploration with hyper/electronic pop immediacy. The tracks "Only We Know", "I don't wanna grow up" and "In a dream" were featured in Under The Radar, influential Norwegian radio station NRK P3 and in other Nordic media including national newspaper Aftenposten and TV series Norsk-Ish.

2024 saw her release "People Pleaser", which garnered rave reviews and listings on the likes of NME's New Bangers, and Nina will be one of the main acts to catch at highly respected Norwegian showcase festival Trondheim Calling in early 2025. Next up is her first single of the new year, the compelling "Hypnotize".

"Hypnotize" was written one late night in the studio after Nina had played a concert. "I was messing around with my synthesizer and mic when my friend [fellow Norwegian musician Noah Johansen, aka Whammyboy] from the studio across the hall dropped by. The moment he heard it he was immediately super stoked and joined in. We ended up making the entire song right then and there, dancing and jumping around together."

On this single, Nina Fay captures the intensity of being lost in love, evoking a dreamy, all-consuming connection where the outside world fades away. Gently melodic synths combine with Nina's angelic voice, before the track's intensity increases on the chorus with skittering D&B beats, recalling Pink Pantheress and Caroline Polachek's combination of beauty and power.

Nina adds: "This is my first love song, actually. It's about the feeling of being completely lost in someone — warm, fuzzy, and completely immersed in the moment, detached from the outside world."

More about Nina Fay:

From a small sea-town in Norway, Nina Fay grew up in a house nestled by the forest, surrounded by music. This natural, almost mystical environment has shaped her approach to creating music that feels both grounded in reality and ethereal—dreamy yet tangible.

On a rainy autumn day, Nina Fay stumbles upon the music program Ableton Live. What follows is an intense creative journey—she locks herself away in her room, writing and producing songs. No one sees or hears from her for almost a year. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, she releases the track "Only We Know." She is immediately booked for SPOT Festival, and the song is spotlighted by Urørt (NO), who call it “a personal favourite in 2023".

Nina’s song "I don’t wanna grow up" is featured in the hit Norwegian TV series "Norsk-ish," further cementing her place in the spotlight. Tidal names her one of their favourite emerging artists, and she tops the "Best of Tidal Rising" playlist, securing the number one spot while gracing its cover.

Since then, Nina has collaborated with techno legends Bendik Baksaas and Aasthma (Casey MQ, Silvana Imam), releasing an exciting new track together. Her growing accolades include winning the prestigious Norwegian prize Sparebanken Sør Musikkpris, with her new song "People Pleaser" featured in NME Magazine's New Bangers playlist.

Nina Fay, is a true multi-talent: she composes, writes, sings, crafts lyrics, handles production, and controls every detail of her work. Inspired by visionaries such as FKA Twigs, Grimes, SOPHIE, and Caroline Polachek, her debut EP is set to launch in early 2025.
