Kicking off 2025 in high gear, South London alt-rock newcomers Dead Air will release their riff-heavy, anthemic, and riotous new single ‘Die’ on 10th January 2025.

The track is the latest to be taken from their forthcoming sophomore EP, Elements, set for release on 7th February 2025 via Fly Tip Records.

Commenting on the new single, front man Reuben says: “‘Die’ was the second half of a two part track—whether the first part comes out we’ll see, but ‘Die’ follows an individual who wakes up in the afterlife after taking their life. Confused and distraught by what they see, they reflect on the actions they have taken. Cursing themselves, they wish to return back to the world of the living.”

Dead Air have been grinding across the UK, perfecting their performance and craft, and are now poised to show the world how raucous alternative rock music can be. Drawing influence from a shared love of melodic and heavy, riff-driven rock (inspired by Queens of The Stone Age, meets Deftones, Rage Against The Machine and Turnstile) the three piece have got anthemic riffs, groovy basslines and thunderous drums, topped with vocal hooks that together creates the uniquely 'Dead Air' sound and a live show that is pure, cathartic energy.

Founding members Lyle Salvatore (guitar) and Rich Greenbury (drums) met in the halls of Leeds University, before moving down to South London. “Lyle came into my family’s record shop looking for some punk, which I had none of, but I was trying to make a sale so we kept chatting about music,” quips bassist and front man Reuben Moonasar. “We spoke about playing guitar (I hadn’t discovered the bass then) and on a second visit he came back and asked if I would join the band.”

Cue the vocalist watching a quick video of Rich playing drums to ‘Wheels’ on stage at Croatia's Pula Arena with Foo Fighters in 2019—being spotted by Grohl in the audience holding a sign which read: "Taylor if you need a break, I can drum?"—and after hearing what the lads had in the locker, Moonasar said yes without any hesitation.

Since their formation, they have broken out from the noise, driven by the success of debut E.P, 'City Sins’, with the lead single and only music video to date, 'Teeth Grinder' racking up over 600K organic views and 12K subscribers on YouTube. This year they are pushing even further, as they are set to release their sophomore, 'Elements'.

Lead single ‘Violently Blue’ was released in late 2024 and landed on NME’s New Bangers playlist, BBC R1 Introducing Rock with Alyx Holcombe, Kerrang! Radio, Planet Rock, Amazing Radio and more.

With further new material and live dates on the horizon for this year, Dead Air are now poised and armed to capitalise on their initial success and showcase how powerful and world-beating UK rock music can be.

In the band’s own words: F*ck sh*t up. Die.
