ARRIVA “BODY ON ME”: IL NUOVO BANGER DI NXDIA DAL MIXTAPE D’ESORDIO!

Alt-pop’s bold new voice Nxdia is ready to tear offthe layers with the upcoming release of their intoxicating debut mixtape, I Promise No One’s Watching, on Friday, 13 June 2025. A raw and riotous self-portrait, Nxdia captures the chaos, beauty and intensity of discovering their identity and sexuality amidst watchful eyes. An intimate snapshot of the Egyptian-Sudanese singer songwriter’s past year, I Promise No One’s Watching is an unflinching self-portrait of the rising artist’s journey and growth, navigating personal change and self-discovery. Nxdia digs deep into parts of them, they’ve been too scared to face.

“It’s everything I went through when I thought no one was watching,” Nxdia says. “There is a version of me that wants to not care what anyone thinks, and there’s the version of me that cares so deeply. It’s about being free to be who you want to be, having the freedom to express yourself, having a not-give-a-f**k attitude, but at the same time being paranoid, analysing yourself every step of the way. There’s always a fear that someone’s watching you, judging you, but what’s scarier is finally watching yourself”.

I Promise No One’s Watching is sonically experimental and emotionally direct, combining introspective lyrics with brash confidence. As the mixtape progresses, Nxdia explores their performative highs and crushing lows, charting their path through queerness, Arab identity, body confidence, gender dysphoria, top surgery and the messy duality of growing up and growing into yourself.

Born in Cairo and Manchester-raised, Nxdia wrote I Promise No One’s Watching largely from their childhood home, before moving to London in late 2024. The record’s standout is “Body On Me” is a cheeky and flirtatious summer anthem, speaking of the intensity of love, longing and emotional intimacy. Balancing light-hearted moments with deeper reflections on self-identity and love, Nxdia layers playful flirtation with a deep desire for connection. Not just a body, what a body, but somebody to me'. "Body on Me" is a declaration of love that transcends mere physical attraction, underscored by the power of blending out outside judgement. Incorporating Arabic lyrics, Nxdia creates a secretive world, a bubble of love where nothing else matters - on one's watching, all that matters is the connection between the two.
