New Single Alert: Panic Shack Return Louder, Funnier, and Fiercer!

Today, Cardiff, UK's Panic Shack return with fierce new single ‘Girl Band Starter Pack’, out now on Brace Yourself Records.

Premiered by Huw Stephens on BBC 6 Music, the track marks another bold step toward their much-anticipated debut album, following a tidal wave of buzz from festival stages to sold-out shows.

‘Girl Band Starter Pack’ is a tongue-in-cheek punk riot, taking aim at the music industry's cliché-laden expectations for women in bands. With walloping guitars, sardonic lyrics, and a chorus you’ll be yelling in the shower for weeks, it’s Panic Shack at their most pointed, playful, and powerful.

Produced by Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Yard Act, Perfume Genius), the track blends razor-edged wit with raw energy—everything that’s made Panic Shack one of the most thrilling names in UK punk.

Speaking about the song, the band shares:

"We’ve heard it all—'You should smile more,’ ‘You’re good for a girl band,’ ‘Is that your boyfriend’s guitar?’ This song is every eyeroll and every backhanded compliment rolled into one gloriously shouty takedown. It’s satire, it’s sarcasm, and it’s 100% us."

This is the latest in a string of high-impact releases from Panic Shack, who’ve previously lit up airwaves and playlists with ‘Meal Deal’, ‘Baby Shack’, and the viral ‘Gok Wan’.

They’ve earned high praise across the board from NME, The Guardian, Dork, DIY, Stereogum, MOJO, Clash, and beyond. Radio love continues from BBC 6 Music (Craig Charles, Lauren Laverne, Steve Lamacq), BBC Radio 1, Radio X, and more.

"The wildest – and funniest – live band you’ll see all year" – NME

"Minimalist sound, maximalist energy" – The Line of Best Fit

"A must-see live act" – Dork

"They can do it all." – DIY
