Italian DJ and producer Dem0 releases his new single “HEY BABY” on July 17 via Fankee, unveiling a vibrant house record that blends organic instrumentation, infectious grooves and a strong dancefloor spirit.
Dem0 is the artistic project of Federico De Matteis, an Italian DJ and producer working across House Music, Disco, and French House, while drawing inspiration from Techno and UK Garage. With more than eight years of experience behind the decks and in the studio, he has developed a distinctive sound that combines electronic grooves, live-played instruments and magnetic vocal elements.
After years of collaborations and productions spanning multiple genres, Dem0 chose to focus entirely on House Music, building a recognizable artistic identity rooted in club culture. He has performed at numerous beach clubs and venues across Northern Italy, including the Heineken Stage at Nameless Festival 2026, BASE Milano and several residencies along the Ligurian coast. He is also involved in Kora and Caligo, projects dedicated to promoting contemporary house and electronic music culture. Currently, Dem0 is working on a new series of original releases that reflect the direction of his sound: melodic, energetic and deeply connected to the spirit of the dancefloor. Looking ahead, he aims to create a community where artists and fans can come together through events dedicated to house and electronic music culture.
“HEY BABY” was born from fragments of ideas gathered during creative sessions across France and Italy. Jam sessions and afternoons spent making music around Europe generated a collection of sounds and sketches that were eventually assembled during an intensive studio brainstorming session. The foundation of the track emerged as a groove-driven house record built around percussion and acoustic bass.
Weeks later, when Dem0 reopened the project, inspiration flowed effortlessly. Piano melodies seemed to write themselves, and the first draft of the lyrics arrived almost fully formed. The song developed naturally, as if it already knew what it wanted to become. In the end, all that remained was to give it a title: “HEY BABY”.
The single is released through Fankee, a revolutionary community-driven music label redefining the relationship between artists and their audiences. In an era dominated by algorithms and traditional gatekeepers, Fankee empowers fans to become active participants in an artist’s growth. Rather than simply consuming music, fans contribute to discovery, promotion, and community building, helping shape the success of the artists they believe in.
Through its innovative platform, Fankee transforms fandom into meaningful participation by recognizing and rewarding genuine contributions. Artists retain their independence while gaining access to powerful community activation tools, fan intelligence, and promotional infrastructure. The result is a new model where growth is organic, measurable and community-powered.
More than a label, Fankee represents a cultural shift where creativity, collaboration, and community converge. It is a platform where discovery becomes influence, influence becomes ownership and the future of music is shaped by the many rather than the few.
