Proseguendo il suo acclamato percorso nel jazz e nel blues, Suit Yourself, il nuovo album della celebrata vocalist Judith Owen, porta avanti il suo viaggio di esplorazione e riscoperta delle gemme meno conosciute di questi generi, trasformandole in autentiche potenze musicali.
L’album include il classico di Mose Allison insieme al maestro Joe Bonamassa, che aggiunge una chitarra infuocata in “Mind Is On Vacation”.
Parlando di “Mind Is On Vacation”, Judith Owen riflette sull’ispirazione dietro il singolo e sulla sua attualità senza tempo: “I had to include this Mose Allison classic, as it really speaks about what’s going on in the world of politics right now, pretty much all over, but especially in the US… a whole lot of talking, but no real meaning and seemingly no need to tell the truth. I think it might be one of the greatest songs about narcissism ever written, plus it’s smart, funny and catchy as hell. My version slinks along, accentuating the lyrics, with the help of a killer solo from blues man Joe Bonamassa. It’s good to find a classic song that has such relevance in the here and now!”.
Suit Yourself è stato prodotto da Judith Owen, mentre il brano “Inside Out” è stato co-prodotto da Owen e Jamison Ross. L’album è stato masterizzato a New Orleans da Misha Kachkachishvili e registrato da John Fiachbach, entrambi vincitori di un Grammy Award.
Judith Owen continua a portare Suit Yourself al pubblico di tutto il mondo con una serie di esibizioni dal vivo di grande rilievo negli Stati Uniti e in Europa. I fan britannici potranno vederla in due speciali concerti da headliner quest’estate, tra cui il Bush Hall di Londra lunedì 1° giugno e il Cabaret al Wales Millennium Centre di Cardiff giovedì 4 giugno. Judith si esibirà inoltre al Love Supreme Festival domenica 5 luglio, insieme a Samara Joy, Joe Lovano e Antonio Faraò. Il festival si terrà a Glynde Place, nelle South Downs.
